Ruth Weber has directed a variety of performing ensembles over the last 30 years. For the past ten years, Ruth has been the Artistic Director/Conductor of the San Diego Jewish Men’s Choir. Under Ms. Weber’s direction the group has recorded and released three award-winning, BILLBOARD-charting albums, appeared twice on Jewish Life TV, and the Chabad Telethon. They have been the U.S. representative on an international video collaboration with Jewish choirs around the world, been guest artists on Grammy award-winning artist, Ricky Kej’s Shanti Samsara album for environmental consciousness, Latin Grammy winner, Mr G’s children’s album, The Mitzvah Bus, and on Stephen Melillo’s album, Forever Strong, A Tribute to the Members of the USS Indianapolis. The group’s music is played in regular rotation on over 120 radio stations nationwide. In 2018 the group toured Phoenix and Nebraska, where they performed as featured artists with the Omaha Symphony. Ruth has directed a wide variety of other ensembles and festivals including an award-winning children’s choir, a youth choir, several adult and college choirs, a klezmer ensemble, two JUMP festivals which raised money for trees in Israel, and a Chanukah JAM which united the San Diego Jewish Community in a mass Chanukah celebration where Mayor Todd Gloria presented a plaque declaring the San Diego Jewish Men's Choir's event "Chanukah JAM Day."
Ruth directed the Disciple Singers choir from 1999-2024. In 2016 the choir was featured as soloists on the UNESCO world peace album, Action Moves People United, backing up actor Dan Aykroyd on the song, Enlighten Your Soul, which won a Global Peace Song Award in 2017. They also sang on the recording, Through Love, composed by Ruth Weber. In 2017 the group sang on artist Rupam Sarmah’s BILLBOARD-charting album, Together in Peace, A Musical Journey. This song they recorded, along with two other songs featuring the choir, was included in the soundtrack of the feature film, One Little Finger, released in 2020. The film celebrates ability in disability and won honors in many international film festivals. As Artistic Director of the Jean Will Presents concert series at the California Center for the Arts, Escondido in 2016 and 2018, Ruth directed 2 fully orchestrated and staged opera evening concerts and oversaw the planning of their concert series. Ruth was the founder of the Accompanying Ensemble at Palomar College where she organized two Night at the Opera fundraiser concerts. The concerts raised over $20,000 for high school student services in the very first year.
